Sharon joined ConferenceDirect in 2011 and loves her role. Her goal is to have her customers view her as an extension of their company. With the growth of Sharon’s business in 2013, she started a team, who assist with customer support and logistics.
In Sharon, customers have a multi-talented, experienced contract negotiator with several unexpected areas of expertise: Sharon is an experienced and certified restaurant chef, has lived abroad and has a passion for travel, cuisine and foreign culture. She constantly finds ways to put these and other skills into the service of her customers.
Sharon spent 15 integral years with Marriott in various sales and leadership roles. Her last role with Marriott was as a member of their global sales team. Her time with Marriott was instrumental in her mastering contract negotiations, revenue management strategies and overall hotel logistics. This acquired hotel knowledge, and the various relationships she built during that time, gives her a high level of expertise to offer clients.
What sets Sharon apart from the competition? She is focused on the relationship, not just single transactions. Her aim is success – a perfect fit for her clients during the site selection process. She has proven that timely communication and diligence will avoid problems. She understands what both clients and hotels need, and she knows how to make ideal opportunities happen. She strives to protect her clients’ interests while saving them time and money, and knows the value of keeping them informed about trends in the meeting industry. Hoteliers and clients alike appreciate her kind and friendly spirit. She has a proven track record of getting business done while being professional and gracious. Sharon is effective, experienced and has a long list of proven, successful negotiations.
Sharon Gates resides in western MA with her husband and three daughters. She received a Bachelor of Business Management from Quinnipiac University and a degree in Culinary Science from Newbury College.
